Exercise Your Mental Health: October 14, 2018 – Maryland State Fairgrounds – Baltimore County

The mission of the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation is to fund, conduct, and promote evidence-based research on how different forms of holistic treatments - such as exercise, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices - can benefit mental health.

We believe that exercise, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle are an important part of maintaining good mental health. The challenge is determining how. Our first step in that direction is our landmark, two-year, gold-standard study we are funding, conducted by world-renowned researcher Dr. Elissa Epel and the University of California/San Francisco. We will be comparing four groups: the control group that does nothing, the Wim Hof Method (WHM) group that does Wim Hof’s breathing exercises and extreme cold training, the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) group, and meditation to determine how the body responds to these forms of positive stress as it relates to depression and mental health. All money raised from the JWB Resiliency 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run will go towards this research.

Thank you very much to the following sponsors for their financial and participative support. Without you, we would not be able to make the incredible "dent in the universe" we are working towards.
