About the Program

This eight-week training program comes complete with a personal training calendar.   During your training you'll gradually and progressively build to running 5K distance!  You can choose to run or to "interval run" (run/walk).

You will train with USA Track and Field and Road Runners Club of America certified coach Jack Beach. 

The culminating event of your training will be the John W. Brick 5K to be held on Sunday, September 10 at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Towson University.  After winding your way through the neighborhoods around the campus, you will finish at the 50 yard line on the track at Johnny Unitas Stadium!!

We will practice on Saturday mornings at 7:30 beginning Saturday, July 22. We will be meeting on the campus of Goucher College in Towson, on the promenade along the harbor from Canton Waterfront Park, and on the hills at Loch Raven Reservoir, so that our training will be convenient for everyone. You will also practicing on the John W. Brick 5K course at Towson University.

August 12: 2800 m/1.75 miles @ Goucher College

August 19: 2 miles @ Loch Raven

August 26: 2.5 miles @ Canton Waterfront Park

September 2: 3.0 miles @ Canton Waterfront Park

September 10: 3.1 miles/JWB 5K @ Towson University
